AISS Bowl-A-Thon 2019
November 16th marked the AISS 3rd Annual Bowl-A-Thon. This provided a valuable time for our scholars to meet with AISS friends and supporters including sponsors. The staff at Bowlmor graciously provided food and drink, and after registration, the scholars began bowling and connecting with their team mates.
Seven teams bowled in total at the Orange County Bowlmor- Teams Biochem, Brysani Bowlers, NPI’s Engineering Rollers, Gardea, Modern Woodmen, and The Heart Strikers. In the end, it was AISS’ guests from the Veterans Legal Institute ended up being the top-scoring team, winning prizes like a baseball signed by Angels player Zack Cozart! AISS was also able to donate money from a special 50/50 Opportunity Drawing to Veterans Legal Institute.

Together, the teams and supporters raised money for high-functioning laptops for our scholars. Having a computer or laptop has become a necessity in modern education, particularly for those going into college. A good quality one can cost hundreds of dollars though, so one of the ways AISS supports their scholars is by providing a laptop for their senior year, so each student can take it with them into college (and beyond!)

We want to thank those who supported our Bowl-A-Thon, including our sponsors NPI Services, Modern Woodmen, Edwards Lifesciences, Brysani Consulting, Nidia Garcia and AISS’ own writing tutor Dr. Rojas. Because of them, we got that much closer to our funding goal for these laptops.
